A recent news release from Node Research, which is a Philadelphia-based market research company that specialized in youth and teen survey research, concluded that 84 percent of America’s 9 to 17 year olds are very or somewhat worried about current economic conditions. More than half expect the conditions to affect the gifts they receive this Christmas. Node found that the RipStik is among the top toys on boys’ lists this year.

Great news! eToys.com released their 2008 Hot Holiday Toy List and the RipStik “G” was named as one of the hot toys for teens this holiday season. They put a press release over the wire, which has seen some great pickup so far including the Denver Post (reach: 1,300,000) and CNNMoney.com (reach: 16,200,000).

Another RipStik mention! This time in the St. Petersburg Times (circ. 288,807). A local 11-year-old is in the running to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids for his baseball accomplishments. Aside from baseball, he enjoys riding his RipStik.

Check out the RipStik mention on Silicone Valley Moms Blog. A local-area mom recounts her recent experience at a skate park with her son who was riding his RipStik. She does a nice job of explaining the RipStik.

The RipStik was mentioned in today’s Dallas Morning News (circ. 373,586). A local-area fifth-grader is set to appear on Fox’s “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader.” In the photo that accompanies the story, the boy is riding a RipStik.

On Saturday evening NBC was doing a profile on one of the US Olympic Team Gymnast (Raj Bhavsar) and he was riding a red Ripstik! These games are the most watched Olympic games in history.

Tuesday’s Washington Post (circ. 673,180) featured an article on the RipStik. This same article has since been picked up by The Montreal Gazette (circ. 133,954) in Canada, the Journal-World (circ. 30,000) in Lawrence, KS will and in today’s Fort Wayne Journal Gazette (circ. 64,304).

The article is focused only on the RipStik and touches on the risk of injury. They interviewed a representative from a local hospital who says he’s treated RipStik-related injuries, but this injury risk shouldn’t stop parents from letting their kids do something that’s great exercise and lots of fun. He even bought a RipStik for his 11-year-old and says the RipStik, “improves balance and fine motor control.”
