RipStik Mentioned in San Jose Mercury News

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

See below for an excerpt out of an article from the San Jose Mercury News (circ. 228,537), which mentions the RipStik. In the newspaper’s regular People Watching feature they wrote about a police lieutenant who bought RipStiks for his kids and loved them so much he bought one for himself. He says it’s a great workout.

“The other thing, which is my new love, is I bought my kids a RipStik (caster board), and it was so much fun I ended up buying one for myself. But I need them to go with me because otherwise I look like a dork! They’re a cover for me to do what I want to do. It’s such a blast; it’s a great workout.”

RipStik Mentioned in Southtown Star

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

See below for an excerpt out of an article from the Southtown Star (circ. 49,587), which mentions the RipStik. One local 10-year-old wants a RipStik for his birthday, but instead of asking friends for it he’s holding a fundraiser birthday party to raise money to send mosquito nets to children in Africa to protect them from malaria.

“Now, just days before his 10th birthday, the New Lenox boy is just as adamant about helping kids. So instead of asking his friends for a RipStik or a Subskate - both of which are top on his wish list - he’s hoping for donations for bed nets to protect children in Africa from malaria.” Southtown Star, By Duaa Eldeib, Staff Writer

RipStik mention in Lake County News-Chronicle

Friday, March 28th, 2008

See below for a RipStik mention in the Lake County News-Chronicle (circ. 3,532). The writer was walking around town looking for signs of spring and found someone riding the RipStik.

A neighbor’s grandson, in a short-sleeve t-shirt on a 45-degree day, was coasting down the middle of the street on a skateboard. Correction. A “rip stick.” Weird looking, wasp-waisted contraption that can be wiggled uphill as well as coasted down. It looked like spring to me, and so I clicked.
